Microsoft Office VancouverCompleted in just 26 weeks and located just two hours away from its global headquarters in Washington State, Microsoft opened a massive 142,000 square-foot office and development hub spanning the top two floors of Pacific Centre's Nordstrom building at 725 Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. According to Microsoft, it spent $100 million on designing and building the state-of-the-art office.
Within this Pacific Centre building, Microsoft occupies the top two floors. The team carefully installed this massive tenant improvement all while Sony Imageworks global headquarters remained fully operational below the space.
Access to the top two floors was restricted to one elevator that required meticulous logistics coordination from the team.
Microsoft President Brad Smith, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and a number of other dignitaries were at the official grand opening June 17, 2016.

UBC Bioenergy Centre.

The first mass wood cross-laminated-timber products (CLT) building in BC, and the first of its kind in North America. The UBC BRDF processes renewable biomass to generate thermal energy. Stanbury worked to locally source CLT (before major manufacturing facilities existed) and worked closely with the design team to coordinate and deliver this landmark building. The BRDF is a Living Laboratory project, integrating UBC’s core academic mandate of research and teaching, all within a facility that is a showcase for CLT products made in British Columbia.

Klahoose Relationships Centre, Cortes Island.This 14,000sf building on remote Cortez Island off the BC West coast leveraged Building Information Modeling, prefabricated SIP panels and mass wood to complete the project in just 12weeks allowing us to coordinate the detailed cedar cladding in close collaboration with the Klahoose First Nation’s trade carpentry program.Learn more →

Klahoose Multi-Centre, Cortes Island.

Built on the shores of Squirrel Cove on BC’s remote Cortez Island, Stanbury collaborated to deliver this fully prefabricated building leveraging mass wood, SIP panels and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The building serves as an accessible welcoming place for the Klahoose people and the local island community. It was designed to emulate the Coast Salish Longhouse and the detailed cedar cladding was constructed in close collaboration with the Klahoose First Nation’s trade carpentry program. The structure was completed in just 12 weeks.

Holroyd Civic CentreAs lead of the design build team, we coordinated the logistics and construction of this three-phase 24 mths project.  This included construction of the new library with temporary office tenant improvement, relocation of City staff to the new building, full renovation of the existing three-level office building, then moving the staff back into the renovated offices before coordinating the amalgamation of three district libraries into the new facility.  The new buildings also house the civic offices and new state-of-the-art conferencing capabilities with the new council chambers.Learn more →
